First of all, games based on movies usually (yes, there are exceptions!) end in a flop. Games and movies? First of all I have to say that I started the game with little sense. Along the way, the main characters experience all kinds of adventures, including our little squirrel. The beasts move to the other side of the valley for cover from “the breakthrough”. A dam (wall) of ice keeps the meltwater out of the valley, but that won’t last long. The polar caps are melting and the meltwater is rising rapidly. The critters that live in a valley at the North Pole are affected by global warming. Story For the people who haven’t seen the movie yet, I’ll briefly show the storyline, which also partially returns in the game. It is very wise of Eurocom to use the nicest character for the game. They sometimes say: “Never change the winning team”, in this case that is an appropriate statement. Luckily, that was the first thing I thought when I heard that. In the game that accompanies this movie, however surprisingly called “Ice Age 2: The Meltdown”, you take on the role of the aforementioned prehistoric tusked squirrel. The rest of the movie came across as a bit childish, but at least it’s humorous. Most of you will have seen the film, we don’t care what you thought of it, but here at the office we at least laughed a lot at that crazy prehistoric squirrel who is looking for that one special note. The movie was entertaining, but can the game guarantee the quality of the movie? You will read it in this review. A game based on the sequel of an animation movie sounds complicated but it isn’t.
